Do you want to be a part of reaching Marshfield and the surrounding area for Christ? I know I do!
There are roughly 11,000 residents within a 5-mile radius of Marshfield First Baptist Church. I can’t give you specific stats on how many of them belong to a church, but certainly not all of them have a church home. The point is that in the culture we live today, we must be proactive in reaching out to the area which surrounds us for Christ.
There are many ways to reach out, but one way is to get acquainted with your neighbors. Start by praying for them. An online tool to help with this is www.blesseveryhome.com. You can sign up to receive an email with the names of five neighbors to pray for each day. My family is doing this, and it helps us to keep consistency in our prayer time. Another way is to be part of our “GO” outreach ministry. This ministry provides an organized way for us (MFBC) to follow up with guests who have visited the church, to provide information to others about the church and to welcome new movers to Marshfield. In a recent article written by Ken Braddy (https://kenbraddy.com/2018/04/12/3-reasons-to-have-a-visitation-day/), he makes a good case for making short home visits. He points out that visiting people at their homes keeps outreach and missions at the forefront of Connect Group ministry (and I think all ministry).
You may have other ideas of how to share the good news of Jesus Christ, and if you do, go for it! The bottom line is we are commanded in Matthew 28:18-20, “to go and make disciples” which starts with go. Let me again challenge you to be a part of reaching Marshfield for Christ. You could be a part of changing someone’s eternity.
Serving with you,
